A famous landmark across the world. The bridge represents the city of San Francisco. It spans across the Golden Gate Strait. Many backpackers walk or cycle over the bridge to get a feel of the size of the bridge. Others try to preserve the beauty by taking pictures and the bridge does present dozens of opportunities for that Instagram perfect shot.

Golden Gate Park

If you’re tired from walking across the bridge, the Golden Gate Park is your next destination. The park overlooks the bridge and it’s a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. A lot of activities are allowed such as picnics, jogging, and cycling. Enjoy the fresh air and sun as you lay down over the green grass.

Cable Cars

Take a turn for the spooky as you visit the infamous island prison of legends. Now closed and under the management of the National Park Service, tourists get to see the institution and take pictures of the many cells that used to house the most hardened criminals in California.

Fisherman’s Wharf

It’s one of busiest tourist areas in the city. A lot of jobs in San Francisco can be found in the wharf as it is home to restaurants, souvenir shops, recreational services and more. You also get to see the fishing fleet that supplies much of the seafood to the wharf restaurants. Enjoy a stroll on the wharf and visit one of the many restaurants to deplete your energy.
